The Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club is part of Rotary International. The club initiates local and global service projects to promote world understanding and peace and improve the life conditions for people of all ages and cultures.
During this unprecedented time the Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary Club and its Foundation are continuing to give back to the community. Rance Roberts, President of the club, explained that “we at Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary made a decision to continue our giving efforts. The effects of the pandemic have far exceeded anyone’s imagination and we know that there are many in Western New York that are suffering the most.
Our Club:
- provided multiple charities near and dear to our club members a total of $7,000 in time for them to use for their holiday needs.
- is doing its part to encourage the safe distancing recommendations. We have begun distributing very fashionable “Eastern Hills Sunrise Rotary’ facemasks to local Senior centers, including the Vinecroft , Transit Pointe, and Solstice.
- provided ‘Buffalo styled’ nourishment to Buffalo first respondents (Thank you to Prima Pizza) and to Brothers of Mercy staff (Thank you to D’Avolio).
- was made aware of the tremendous service Resurrection Life has been providing to families through their food pantry. In conversations with Kim Reynolds, Director of the Resurrection Life Food Pantry, it became abundant clear that the need in the community continues to grow. Our foundation should stepped up and contributed $2,000 to Resurrection Life Fellowship. With that club member Jim Dry, of Wittlin Dry & Dry LLP CPAs, and friends of the club Matt & Danielle Cherry, of Glendale Development, and Rick Pepperday, of Summit Financial, came together to add to the donation bringing the final tally to a whopping $5,000.
